A community-based social justice group show at the intersection of alcoholism, the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) movement, homelessness, and cultural preservation.

5 artists selected to showcase their artwork for this exhibition.

Proposal:
I am touching base on Native Health focusing on alcoholism. How it affects this community, how we are desensitized to individuals who are alcoholics, and how it affects families. My mother was an alcoholic when I was a kid and I worked at the Library before COVID I have seen first hand how alcoholism affects individuals.

I plan on creating an assemblage painting that includes acrylic and oil paints, beer bottle caps, emotional baggage, paper, relevant imagery, and other materials/mediums to create the overall piece. I have not decided if the painting will be a representational or an abstract interpretation.
